Project

In Providenza, he completed the writing and the first part of an experimental sci-fi short film titled Cursinu Fantasma, which follows the perspective of a dog (a Corsican breed) sent by a scientific commission to explore and collect images and sounds from the as-yet-unexplored garden of ‘Gyre.’ The film reveals dizzying and colorful images of the island’s landscapes, seen through the dog’s eyes, accompanied by an immersive and organic soundtrack, created mainly through field recordings around Providenza blended with modern sounds from wind instruments and drones. Through this form of synesthesia, where sounds become colors, textures, or even words, the filmmaker creates a contrast and dissonance with the images, offering a fragmented portrait of the symbiotic relationship between the animal and the landscape.

By observing interactions between humans and their dogs, he delved into the reciprocal bonds that grow stronger over time and allow a form of nonverbal communication through the depth of the human-animal relationship.

Shot in Corsica and edited/recorded at the Providenza studio, the first part of the film was screened in a field overlooking the Saint-Florent gulf at nightfall, during the residency restitution festival. A prequel to his first feature film currently in development, Gyre’s Galax, the short film will soon be presented at international festivals.
