Theo Casciani & Lyra Pramuk

In April 2026, writer Théo Casciani and American composer Lyra Pramuk will be in residence at Providenza to initiate the musical creation of Insula, a stage adaptation of the novel of the same name, to be published by Éditions P.O.L in 2026.

Inspired by the loss of the author’s father, who was originally from Corsica, the project draws on the island’s landscapes and collective memory to bridge the intimate and the communal. Their work has already led to an initial sonic exploration of Corsican polyphonic singing, developed in collaboration with Jean-Claude Acquaviva and the group A Filetta, blending traditional vocal practices with electronic textures.

This residency marks the first stage in an ongoing dialogue between literature, experimental music, and Corsican vocal heritage, with a view to a full production scheduled for 2027 in France and internationally.
